Rouge Media is a boutique web design and development agency based in Reading, Berkshire.

The Brief

Rouge Media came to Screaming Frog with a clear brief: “For our small web design and development agency to be talked about and linked to online at scale, without a big budget”.

Our campaign, featuring a mixture of hero content campaigns, would aim to increase the brand’s discoverability online, build its reputation as trusted web experts, and diversify its backlink profile to compete with competitors.

Our Strategy

Our strategy was to place Rouge Media at the heart of public conversations about the online world. This meant blurring the boundaries between B2B and B2C content, making campaigns appeal to both audiences.

We needed to be ahead of the curve when it came to relevant developing news stories, providing journalists with additional editorial value. Campaign ideas came organically by monitoring news flow and sentiment around developing issues (using tools such as Pinpoint and Streams on Roxhill, keyword tracking on BuzzSumo, and traditional media monitoring).

Over the course of the campaign, we created and launched five successful hero content pieces.

The campaign Screaming Frog has delivered has been a masterclass in creativity, knowledge and smart risk-taking. Our brief was challenging within a small budget and their work has exceeded all expectations, landing us coverage in publications we could only have dreamed of and supporting the visibility of our business online and increasing quality enquiries.
