Auto Updates
By default the SEO Spider will automatically check for updates. You can enable/disable this behaviour via the menu item Help->Debug->Auto Check for Updates.
To do this without the UI you can update the spider.config file that lives in:
Windows
C:\Users\USERNAME\.ScreamingFrogSEOSpider\
macOS:
~/.ScreamingFrogSEOSpider/
Ubuntu:
~/.ScreamingFrogSEOSpider/
and add/modify the following line:
updatechecker.enabled=false
