Pages With High External Outlinks

Pages that have a high number of followed external outlinks on them based upon the ‘High External Outlinks’ preferences under ‘Config > Spider > Preferences’.

External outlinks are hyperlinks to another subdomain or domain (depending on your configuration).

This might be completely valid, such as linking to another part of the same root domain, or linking to other useful websites.

How to Analyse in the SEO Spider

View URLs with this issue in the ‘Links’ tab and ‘Pages With High External Outlinks’ filter and export all URLs using the ‘Export’ button.

The number of ‘External Outlinks’ and ‘Unique External Outlinks’ can be viewed in respective columns in the Links tab.

External followed outlinks can be seen in the lower ‘Outlinks’ tab, with the ‘All Link Types’ filter set to ‘Hyperlinks’ where the ‘Follow’ column is ‘True’.

What Triggers This Issue

This issue is triggered when pages have a high number of followed external outlinks, as defined by the ‘High External Outlinks’ setting in ‘Config > Spider > Preferences’ in the SEO Spider.

How To Fix

Review followed external outlinks to ensure they are to credible, trusted and relevant websites that are useful to your users.
