Sitemaps: Non-Indexable URLs In Sitemap

back to issues overview

Non-Indexable URLs In Sitemap

URLs that are in an XML Sitemap, but are non-indexable, and hence should be removed, or their indexability needs to be fixed.

How to Analyse in the SEO Spider

To populate this filter the ‘Crawl Linked XML Sitemaps’ configuration must be selected via ‘Config > Spider > Crawl’, and post ‘Crawl Analysis‘ must be performed.

View URLs with this issue in the ‘Sitemaps’ tab and ‘Non-Indexable URLs In Sitemap’ filter, and export all URLs using the ‘Export’ button.

The ‘Indexability Status’ column indicates the reason the URLs are non-indexable.

What Triggers This Issue

This issue is triggered when URLs listed in an XML Sitemap are non-indexable, meaning they have been configured (intentionally or unintentionally) in a way that prevents search engines from indexing them.

How To Fix

XML Sitemaps should only include indexable pages. Remove non-indexable URLs from the XML Sitemap or update to the correct canonical versions.
